Someone to Clean the Guinea Pig Cage
And by clean the cage, we mean clean it the way SHE would clean it. Don’t be upset if she wants to direct from the couch. After all, it needs to be done right or else it will be that much harder next time it is cleaned.
Someone to Prepare the Guinea Pig Diets
The lettuce needs to be washed. The vegetables need to be cut. Perhaps the fridge needs to be cleaned and stocked. A run to the store for fresh vegetables would be nice too but be sure you know what you’re buying. Guinea pigs have particular tastes and complex diets.
Quiet Time with the Guinea Pigs
A quiet, relaxing snuggle is always welcome. Give Mom some alone time and hand her a piggy in a cuddle cup. Check back to make sure she doesn’t fall asleep and if she looks like she may, offer to put the piggies safely back in their cage.
Wash the Laundry and Organize the Goods
Guinea pigs have a lot of dirty laundry and it needs to be folded and put away afterwards. If Mom struggles to find a place for all the guinea pig blankets, cuddle cups, mats, and tunnels, consider organizing the guinea pig items in clean, dry, well vented storage boxes with labels.
A Donation to her Favorite Guinea Pig Rescue or Shelter
If your Guinea Pig Mom lives far away, consider making a donation to her favorite guinea pig charity. Ask for a card to be sent to her so she knows the donation was received. Many rescues offer cards or certificates.
